Invisalign Treatment: The Facts

Invisalign Treatment: The Facts

Invisalign Treatment, here are the Facts.

Have you considered braces or other types of teeth alignment services? At Versailles Dental Clinic, our team offers Invisalign Aligners – A revolutionary dental technology for straightening your teeth. The Invisalign treatment is a popular choice, as it is hardly noticeable unlike braces.

There are many common questions about Invisalign, such as: Is the treatment painless? Will the treatment offer me the perfect smile? Can I eat whilst I wear my Invisalign?

The Invisalign Treatment is painless

The Invisalign treatment is virtually painless and more comfortable than regular orthodontic braces. At the most, discomfort may occur for the first few days or when you switch your tray to the next phase, this is the pressure of your teeth adjusting to the new tray. Invisalign aligners have been designed to ensure your treatment is as painless as possible!

You can remove your aligners

Invisalign aligners can be removed when brushing and flossing. However, the biggest advantage is that you can also remove them during mealtime, allowing you to eat and drink whatever you like, without the worry of damaging your aligners.

22 hours a day

If you want to achieve optimal results, you have to wear the aligners up to 22 hours a day. The aligners will control the way teeth shift. Each tray will shift certain teeth, the shift is mapped out in your personal treatment plan as determined by our expert team to reach the straight teeth you desire.

They’re completely transparent

Invisalign aligners are transparent to ensure that they are not noticeable, unlike metal wires or brackets. It’s simply a thin cover over your teeth, which resembles your original teeth.

You do need to take proper care

Maintain a good oral hygiene at home or else you may expose your teeth to cavities and decay. Use warm water and anti-bacterial soap to clean your Invisalign aligners regularly. This is to prevent the buildup of bacteria which can be harmful to the clear aligners.

You have to wear a retainer

After your Invisalign Treatment you will wear retainers for a few months after completion of the treatment. As you naturally bite and chew the teeth, there is a possibility that they could move. Retainers will help avoid that and ensure the shifted teeth stay firmly in place and do not move around again.

Invisalign in Dubai, is available from Versailles Dental Clinic Dubai, we’ve treated more than 20,000 patients with clear Aligners.

Is Invisalign a Good Option?

Get your smile back in no time.

If you have been avoiding braces because you felt they were not the right choice for you, it’s time to talk about Invisalign.

Invisalign is a teeth alignment system using clear aligners. It allows you to achieve that perfect smile comfortably and quickly. On this post, we’ll help you decide whether starting an Invisalign treatment is the best option for you.

How does it work?

Unlike braces, Invisalign does not use brackets and wires to shift teeth, but clear plastic alignment trays. Each tray works to position your teeth into its ideal position. Patients are usually made to wear these trays for two weeks, then a new set of trays will be put in place for the next set of changes. You will be expected to visit the dentist every six to eight weeks for check-ups, with the treatments usually completed in a year.

Invisalign is one of our fortes, if you’re contemplating on getting fitted for these invisible braces in Dubai, have a look of some of its benefits.

What are the advantages?

While some patients still choose to go the ‘braces route’, Invisalign is becoming a popular choice for the following reasons:

  • Comfort: without the wires and brackets that irritate the soft tissue, Invisalign’s smooth trays offer better comfort for the patient.
  • Safety: the plastic trays offer a better experience to patients with metal allergies and sensitive gums.
  • Speed: compared to braces, Invisalign treatments allow patients fewer visits and an overall reduced treatment time to your dream smile.
  • Hassle-free: you won’t need to change your diet or oral hygiene routines to accommodate your treatment. Simply remove your aligners, enjoy your favorite food, brush and floss your teeth as usual, and pop them back in place to continue treatment.

Dental Veneers: Smile on!

November 16, 2022

Dental Veneers: Smile on!

Dental Veneers: Smile on!

Dental veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures. And it’s no wonder why: they can give you a brand-new smile in just a few visits to the dentist. But what are dental veneers? How do they work? And are they right for you? Keep reading to learn everything you need to know about this popular dental procedure.

What are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry option for patients looking to improve the appearance of their teeth. Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that we bond to the front surfaces of your teeth. Their high grade porcelain material ensures longevity and cover up imperfections such as chips, cracks, gaps, and stains. Usually we set Veneers on the top front teeth but also on the bottom teeth if desired.

The veneer process usually takes two dental visits – one to prepare the tooth and take impressions, and another to bond the veneers in place. With proper care, veneers can last for many years before needing to be replaced. If you’re considering veneers, it’s important to consult with an experienced cosmetic dentist who can help you determine if they’re right for you.

The advantages of Dental Veneers

If your smile is marred by stained, chipped, or misshapen teeth, dental veneers may give you the boost of confidence you need. Veneers are very thin shells of ceramic or porcelain that are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth. They can be used to improve the appearance of a single tooth or multiple teeth, and they offer many advantages over other cosmetic dental treatments.

Some of the benefits of dental veneers include:

• Natural-looking results: Our Veneers are made to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth so that your smile looks completely natural.

• Durability: Using only strong materials, they resist to staining and wear, so they can last for many years with proper care.

• Minimal invasiveness: Unlike other cosmetic treatments like tooth bonding or tooth reshaping, veneers require minimal preparation of your natural teeth. This means that less of your natural tooth structure is removed in the process.

• Versatility: Veneers can be used to correct a wide variety of cosmetic concerns, from stained teeth to misshapen or crooked teeth.

How to get Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures. They are thin, tooth-colored shells that are custom made to cover the front surface of your teeth. Veneers can be used to improve the appearance of your smile and help protect your teeth from further damage. The first step in getting dental veneers is to schedule a consultation with your dentist.

During this visit, your dentist will examine your teeth and discuss your treatment options with you. If you decide that veneers are right for you, your dentist will take impressions of your teeth and send them to a dental laboratory. Once the dental laboratory creates your custom veneers, you will return to the dentist office to have them bonded to your teeth. The bonding process usually takes two or three visits to complete. After the bonding process is finished, you will have a beautiful new smile that you can be proud of!

The Different Types of Dental Veneers

Veneers are thin, tooth-colored shells that are bonded to the front of your teeth. They can be made from porcelain or composite resin material. Veneers are used to improve the appearance of your smile and can be used to correct dental issues such as:

· gaps

· misshapen teeth

· chip or cracks

· severe discolorations

Porcelain veneers are made from a thin layer of porcelain that is custom-designed to match the color and shape of your natural teeth. Porcelain veneers are more durable and stain-resistant than composite veneers. They also provide a more natural-looking result.

How long does it usually take to get Dental Veneers?

The process of getting dental veneers usually takes two to three weeks. First, the dentist will take an impression or mold of your teeth. Then, they will send the mold to a laboratory. Once the veneers are ready, you will come back to the dentist’s office to have them bonded to your teeth.

Are Dental Veneers a good option if I want to redesign my smile?

Are you considering redesigning your smile? If so, you’re not alone! Dental veneers are a popular option for those looking to improve their smile. But what exactly are dental veneers? And are they a good option for you? Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells that cover the front surface of your teeth.

They’re made from porcelain or composite resin, and can be used to correct a variety of cosmetic concerns, such as gaps between teeth, misshapen teeth, and discoloration. If you’re considering dental veneers, it’s important to consult with a qualified dentist to see if they’re right for you. While dental veneers can offer many benefits, they’re not right for everyone. Your dentist will be able to assess your individual needs and recommend the best course of treatment.

What Is The Right Age For Kids To Get Braces?

What Is The Right Age For Kids To Get Braces?

What Is The Right Age For Kids To Get Braces?

As a parent, you must wear many hats and know what is best for your child in every aspect of their life.

It is not easy for a parent to know when to start Orthodontic treatment for their children. There is a lot of information out there to navigate and understand.

As a parent, you might be confused because even if your child’s teeth look aligned in the front, the malocclusion may lay in the back teeth, something that is difficult to see with an untrained eye.

It is a good idea to get an orthodontic evaluation by the age of 7-8 years old. By that age children have enough permanent teeth that allow me to diagnose if there might be future problems. Early detection of potential orthodontic issues is key since in many cases the early diagnosis and prevention makes future treatment easier for the patient and the doctor.

If I detect a future problem, the age of the actual treatment can widely vary depending on each individual case.

For some rare cases, I might use the interceptive approach, which involves using dental appliances (not braces) at an early age. This will be the first phase of the treatment. Once the child has all adult teeth out, I will continue with the second phase (braces) if needed. The benefit of the first phase is big, usually, the second, braces phase, will be shorter and lighter treatment.

For most cases, I will start the treatment once all adult teeth erupt. Depending on each individual case the age might vary.

What is important to remember:

  • Early detection is key, book the first consultation around ages 7-8.
  • If necessary, return every 6 months for follow-up appointments to monitor the situation.
  • An orthodontic consultation is different from a dental consultation, make sure to follow-up your child dental care with your regular dentist.
  • Untreated orthodontic issues might contribute to tooth decay, gum diseases, tempo mandibular problems and loss of teeth.
  • Crooked teeth can also affect a child and teen self-confidence.
  • If left untreated, orthodontic problems do not go away, unfortunately, down the road, they will be more complicated and costly.

The bright line is:

  • With early detection, the treatment will be done safely in shortest terms possible.
  • Even if the treatment can be lengthy, you will give your child a smile for life.
  • The greatest reward for a parent is a healthy smile of their child.

Invisalign: How To Clean Your Trays?

October 24, 2022

Invisalign: How To Clean Your Trays?

How to care for your Invisalign Aligners?

If you have decided to start your Invisalign treatment you’re probably wondering how to take care of your new clear braces.

Invisalign trays need to be cleaned gently with water and a very soft toothbrush to avoid scratching them. Your aligners are more fragile than you natural teeth and need to be taken care of gently.

In this blog, we’ll show you some oi the best practices to keep your trays clean and sanitized.

Brush your teeth and your aligners

It’s best to brush your aligners, whenever you brush your teeth. That means that you’ll be brushing them at least twice a day. For the best results, we recommend having a separate toothbrush for your Invisalign trays. It’s also best to use cold water instead of hot water, as it may warp the plastic of the aligners. Be sure to brush the entire tray inside and out, making sure to rinse it out completely.

Do not use toothpaste to clean your Invisalign Trays

Tooth paste can be abrasive and will scratch your aligners overtime rendering them opaque. Instead you can use cold water, a very soft tooth brush and some clear liquid soap.

For a complete solution you can purchase the Invisalign cleaning system right here:

Store them properly

When removing your Invisalign alignment trays for any reason, be sure to store them carefully in their storage case. If you do not have a case in hand, the second-best alternative is to place them in a glass of cold or room temperature water.

To keep potential smell away, and improve the freshness of your aligners, store them in diluted antimicrobial mouthwash while you eat. This helps reduce the buildup of plaque and will help improve your breath.

Brush your aligners after every meal

Although you should brush your alignment trays twice a day, the best way to avoid discoloration and smells is to brush them between meals. If you don’t have the time to brush them after each meal, then you can take them out and rinse your mouth thoroughly, cleaning your aligners with cool water.

Contact us if your aligner is damaged

If you notice your Invisalign aligners are damaged, kindly call us immediately. Do not wear your damaged trays as this will have an adverse effect to your treatment.

Invisalign, Live a Normal Lifestyle!

Invisalign, will it affect your lifestyle?

The simple answer is that Invisalign won’t deeply affect your lifestyle. Invisalign aligners are practically invisible, to allow you to carry on with your day-to-day with confidence. Gone are the days of regular orthodontic braces where you feel self-conscious to smile and reveal the metal wires and brackets.

How does Invisalign work?

In order to achieve the perfect smile, we recommended that you wear your aligners for 20-22 hours per day. This will ensure optimum results. With Invisalign, you will enjoy all of your favorite foods and drinks by simply removing your aligners. Invisalign is easy to live with contrarily to traditional braces which can force you to eat only specific foods. You can remove your aligners and store them in their case before eating. As well. brush your teeth morning and night, clean, rinse and return your aligners after that.

Are Invisalign aligners difficult to maintain and clean?

Many patients with regular braces find it difficult to reach in between teeth and gums because the wires and brackets are in the way when brushing and flossing. With Invisalign you can live brush and floss normally, as you will simply remove the aligners to do so. Simply brush and and rinse them in lukewarm water to keep them clean and free from food particles.

For a complete cleaning solution you can purchase the Invisalign cleaning system right here:

How To Clean Your Aligners & Retainers?

October 9, 2022

How To Clean Your Aligners & Retainers?

How to clean your retainers: advice and practical tips.

If you or your child recently got retainers or Invisalign aligners, here is all you need about keeping those clean and safe.

How often should I clean my retainer or aligner?

You should clean your retainers or aligners just as often as you brush your teeth. If not cleaned properly, unfortunately, the retainers will become a breeding ground for bacteria that can make you ill in various ways. Besides daily cleaning, reserve 5 minutes once a week for a deeper, more thorough cleaning.

What do I need to maintain my retainer clean?

First off, you need to dedicate a separate soft-bristled toothbrush solely for cleaning your appliance. The brand of the toothbrush is not important, you can use any generic brand if the bristles are soft. You don’t want to damage your aligner with a hard brush. You must be very careful when cleaning your Invisalign aligners, make sure you don’t brush them too hard. If you don’t, tiny scratches might form that will turn your aligners cloudy.

How can I clean my retainer at home?

There are few easy ways to care for your retainer or aligner at home. But first, if you are on the go and the cleaning brush is not available, water is your best friend. Make sure you rinse thoroughly your aligner with water. When you get home, however, use any of the methods described below:

Toothpaste or mild soap

The easiest way to clean your retainer is to use the same toothpaste that you use for your dental routine. Make sure the product is non-abrasive and non-whitening. Gently brush the retainer for 30 seconds and rinse thoroughly. The toothpaste will not kill all the bacteria but at least will remove a good part of the bacteria build-up. The same applies the soap, choose a non-abrasive, non-scrubbing soap. Brush the retainer gently and rinse with warm water before placing it in your mouth.

Commercial retainer cleaning products

Ask your dentist about a retainer or denture cleaning product like Efferdent or Polydent. Use the cleaning product no more than few times a week. Follow the instructions for the product you use. The professional cleaning products will remove most of the bacteria from the retainer or aligner.

A mixture of vinegar and water

Prepare a mixture of 50% white vinegar and warm water and soak your retainer for about 20 minutes. While the retainer is soaking, you can gently brush it for about 2 minutes to remove any deposits. Rinse the appliance abundantly after the soak. The retainer might taste a bit funny when you place it in your mouth due to the vinegar.

How NOT to clean your retainer?

It is very important to keep your aligner clean, however, there are some things that might damage your appliance. Never boil your retainer or soak it in boiling water. The retainers and aligners are made of high-grade medical plastic, if soaked in hot water the appliance might distort and lose its shape.

Bleach is harmful to the plastic; no good amount is good to use to clean your retainer. Eliminate the option of using bleach completely.

Avoid using any type of cleaning product that contains alcohol and is not designed specifically for cleaning retainers and aligners.

Washing the retainer in a dishwasher is not a good idea, the hot water, and the abrasive dishwasher liquid will destroy it.

I cannot remove the build-up on my retainer, what should I do?

Sometimes despite all the efforts of cleaning the retainer, a layer of build-up might accumulate. Take your retainer to your dentist, in the clinic, there are professional cleaning tools available. The dentist will clean the thoroughly the retainer without damaging the appliance.

I broke my retainer, can it be replaced?

It is absolutely fine but the doctor might find necessary to take a new scan of your teeth in order to replace it.
