How will Invisalign affect my lifestyle? - Versailles Dental Clinic in Dubai

How will Invisalign affect my lifestyle?

The simple answer is that Invisalign won’t affect your lifestyle. Invisalign aligners are practically invisible, to allow you to carry on with your day-to-day with confidence. Gone are the days of regular orthodontic braces, where you feel self-conscious to smile and reveal the metal wires and brackets.

In order to achieve the perfect smile, it is recommended that you wear your aligners for 20-22 hours per day to ensure maximum results. With Invisalign, you can enjoy all of your favorite foods and drinks by simply removing your aligners, unlike traditional braces which recommend certain foods be avoided. Simply remove your aligners and store them in their case before eating and likewise when brushing your teeth morning and night, then rinse and return them once you’re finished.

Many patients with regular braces find it difficult to reach in between teeth and gums because the wires and brackets are in the way when brushing and flossing. However, daily oral hygiene is not impacted by Invisalign, as you simply remove the aligners for brushing and flossing. They can also be brushed and rinsed in lukewarm water to keep them clean and free from food particles.

What’s more, Invisalign aligners are also smooth and comfortable, you may feel some discomfort during the tray changing stages, however, they’re virtually painless in comparison to regular braces. After a few days, you’ll become used to wearing them and forget they’re even there!

If you’re concerned about how braces may affect your hobbies, the good news is that with Invisalign there is no limitation with playing sports, a musical instrument or any other activities you’re involved with, you can simply continue your regular lifestyle as normal. Invisalign for children can achieve faster and safer results, without having the risk of the metal braces being damaged due to contact sports.

During the first few days, you may find your speech has a small lisp as your mouth gets used to the aligners. However, your tongue will quickly adjust and your speech shouldn’t be impacted.
